Introduction
NoSqlStudio licenses are perpetual: you buy a tier once and own that version forever, with no recurring fee to keep using it. This page explains the add-ons layered on top of a license.
In the V1 commercial model there is exactly one add-on: Software Assurance (SA). It is optional and can be added on top of any paid license. Everything below is about SA — what it is, what it costs, and how to buy it.

Only one add-on today
Software Assurance is the only add-on in V1. More add-ons may arrive in later versions, but right now SA is the whole catalog — don't go looking for others in the buy flow.
Who this page is for
Anyone deciding whether to add Software Assurance when ordering a license, and anyone who already owns a license and wants to add or renew SA later. This is a buying guide, not an in-app tutorial.
What Software Assurance is
Software Assurance is an optional maintenance and upgrade add-on you attach to a paid license.
The two things SA gives you
Software Assurance bundles two benefits for the period you choose:
- Free updates and new versions for 1–3 years — every release that ships during your SA window is yours at no extra cost.
- Priority support — your tickets go to the front of the queue.

What stays true without SA
SA is additive. Skipping it does not cripple your license — you still own your purchased version perpetually and keep using it forever. You simply don't get future-version updates or priority support.
The license is the product you own; SA is a subscription-style layer for staying current. The two are billed and reasoned about separately.
Pricing
SA is priced as a percentage uplift on the license price — not a flat fee — so it scales with the tier you buy.
The percentage by duration
- 1 year → +30%
- 2 years → +45%
- 3 years → +55%
The percentage is applied to the license subtotal (base price × quantity), so a bigger order carries a proportionally bigger SA amount.
A concrete example
Take a Commercial License at US$239 and add 1 year of SA (+30%):

Total ≈ US$311Pick 2 years (+45%) or 3 years (+55%) instead and the same base of US$239 becomes ≈ US$347 or ≈ US$370 respectively.
Buy it with your license
The easiest moment to add SA is at checkout, right on the Pricing page, in the same row as the license you're buying.
Open the Software Assurance dropdown
On the Pricing page, find the row for the license you want and open the Software Assurance dropdown. Its default is No SA.
The dropdown offers No SA, One Year (+30%), Two Years (+45%) and Three Years (+55%).
Pick a duration and buy
Choose One / Two / Three Years, then click Buy now.
The price updates with the +% uplift and the order summary shows a line like Software Assurance: 1 year(s) (+30%).
Buying SA together with the license is the cleanest path — one payment, one summary, updates and priority support from day one.
Add it later or renew
You are not locked into deciding at first purchase. SA can be attached to an existing license, and renewed when it lapses.
Add SA after you already own the license
Software Assurance can be purchased any time. If you bought a license with No SA, you can come back later and add a 1–3 year SA period on top of it.
What happens when the period ends
When your SA window ends, you keep every version released while it was active — those updates are yours to run forever. To keep receiving newer versions and priority support, renew SA for another 1–3 years.

Cleanup (nothing to undo)
This is an informational page — there is nothing to clean up. If you decide against Software Assurance, you change nothing: you still own your licensed version forever, with no recurring cost and no loss of what you bought.
